This testing was conducted to compare the Acsys orthopedic Nano-Res to an industry standard Epoxy Acrylic resin.  The
competitors resin was procured through normal trade channels.   The Nano-Res used for the testing was the Enhanced formulation.
Both resins were mixed according to the manufactures directions and vacuum degassed.  They were then cast between glass
sheets to create test specimens approximately .5 inches in width and .25 inches in thickness.   All specimens were inspected for
bubbles upon demolding.  The specimens were maintained in a standard lab environment for two weeks to attain consistent degrees
of ambient cure.  Five specimens of each cured resin were brought to CRT labs, an ISO 9000 certified mechanical testing facility in
Orange, CA. for testing.  The lab was instructed to test the specimens as per ASTM D 790.  The lab was blinded as to the identity of
the specimens, each group was labeled "A" or "B".  The lab first conditioned the specimens per ASTM D 618 and then tested the
specimens as instructed.  The results showed the Nano-Res samples exhibited higher flexural yield strength, higher flexural modulus
and higher strain to yield.  The stress/strain graphs shown are the strongest resin samples from each group.  This data applies to
samples tested and is not meant to be a specification.
